Diocese of Chichester Safeguarding

  1. For any applicant applying for a post eligible for a DBS check, ask them to fill in a Confidential Declaration Form. This form allows an applicant to declare in advance of a DBS check whether they have any convictions, or any thing else in their past which you should be aware of and take into account when recruiting them. If they declare anything on the Confidential Declaration Form, contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Team  so that we can help you assess this information as part of your recruitment process.
  2. Your parish's Lead Recruiter will have received extensive information and guidance directly from the Account Manager at 31:8, which includes extensive instruction on how to process a DBS check. That guidance is not reproduced here, but it will be available to the parish Lead Recruiter and should be followed for each check.
